Guillermo Del Toro’s game to debut at VGAs
If there is one person from Hollywood I can see having a lot of success in the video game world, it’s Del Toro. The man has an amazing imagination and has dreamed up some of the most creative, frightening, and awe inspiring creatures and stories we’ve seen on the screen. He also has a real understanding of both video game and geek culture that a lot of people in Hollywood don’t. With good developers in tow, this man could create something fantastic.
Announced a couple weeks ago, the collaboration between Del Toro and THQ in the world of H.P. Lovecraft will finally get its official debut next month at the Video Game Awards. According to Joystiq, THQs EVP. Danny Bilson had the following to say..
“He’s a gamer who wants to make a great game and has very interesting points of view and is partnered very closely with myself and my writing partner, Paul.”
“THQ will be announcing the game title and the studio and all of that on the VGA awards in about a month.”
While I’m still curious as to what studio is going to be behind the game, I still fully expect this game to be something truly special and I can’t wait to see how Del Toro leaves his mark in the video game world. Hopefully it’s a bigger one than Spielberg made.
