The Dark Knight will rise in 2D. Just not against The Riddler.

Holy actual Batnews, Batman!

In a short interview with Hero Complex, Christoper Nolan gave a few details about the upcoming Batman film.  While he didn’t tell them much he gave them enough to get us all talking.  First off, we finally have a name.  The Dark Knight Rises.  So right away it gives us a good idea of where the story is going.  Obviously Bats is on his way back into Gotham after the events of The Dark Knight.More after the jump.

We also got some news on the villain.  But only on who it won’t be.  And who it won’t be is Edward “The Riddler’ Nigma.  Which is a bit of a disappointment because I think Nolan could have done something on the level of Heath Ledgers Joker with The Riddler.

And lastly, a bit of relief for most I’m sure.  Batman 3 will not be Batman 3D.  He instead is doing it much the same way he shot The Dark Knight.  With high def and IMAX cameras.

So who do you guys want to see as the villain?    I personally have always loved the idea of bringing Bane into the films and having him break Batman just like he did in the comics and then letting the Franchise rest for at least a good 10 years and then having everyone come back and doing The Dark Knight Returns.  It’s my dream to see Nolans take on that story.

  1. Yay! I’m glad you’re getting your blog started!

I like the title, and I’m also disappointed that it won’t be the Riddler. I was hoping they could get Daniel Day-Lewis to do it. Ah well.

I really like Harley Quinn, but the problem is that she requires the Joker, and with Ledger’s death, I’m not sure it’d be possible to use her.

    • I can see her working if they tweaked her origin a little bit. Make her someone that was inspired by Joker and seeking revenge. But it changes her too much and is a bit of a rehash so I don’t see it actually happening.
